It's an ecosystem where people of all backgrounds inspire each other and build relationships through making, selling, and buying cultural goods. We want everyone on Sellexa to feel safe, and our priority is fostering an inclusive environment.
These guidelines are a part of our Terms of Use. By using Sellexa, you're agreeing to these guidelines and our Terms of Use.
Sellexa prohibits the use of our Services to discriminate against people based on the following personal attributes (collectively, "protected groups"):
It is your responsibility to know your local laws and any other legal regulations on discrimination that might apply to you. Additionally, Sellexa does not allow hate speech. Hate speech occurs when violent, offensive, derogatory, or demeaning language is directed at a person or group based on one or more protected group attributes.
Whether you're engaging with public features on Sellexa, such as listing items, using community spaces, and writing reviews, or having direct communication with other members of the Sellexa community, such as via Messages, discrimination and hate speech are not allowed. As a seller on Sellexa, your shop content, including shop announcements and shop policies, cannot display discriminatory behaviour toward protected groups.
If you think discrimination or hate speech has occurred on Sellexa, please report it by contacting Sellexa through the Help Centre, and we will investigate. If you see a listing on Sellexa which you believe violates our Prohibited Items Policy, including prohibited hate items, we encourage you to flag the item by using the "Report this item to Sellexa" link at the bottom of each listing page. We have a timely review process for all reports.
Harassment is prohibited on Sellexa. This includes:
This rule applies everywhere on Sellexa. It covers all public features such as listing items, using community spaces, and writing reviews, as well as direct messages and shop content like announcements and policies. It also applies to interactions with Sellexa support staff.
If you experience harassment on Sellexa, please contact our support team for assistance.
Sellexa takes user safety and well-being seriously, and utilises people, policies, and technology to enforce our content moderation policies. As a baseline, we work to remove harmful and fraudulent content from the platform. Beyond this, we also expect that content aligns with the mission of our brand, and we develop these policies with our company values in mind.
We strive to consistently enforce our policies and hold all members accountable to the same standards, in order to strengthen trust in our community and maintain the integrity of our platform. This goal is achieved through human review, automated tooling and processes, quick action upon notice of an issue, cooperation with experts and regulators, educating Sellexa's member community, and a continuing commitment to a thoughtful content moderation strategy.
Sellexa policies allow us to moderate Your Content, which includes listings, messages, reviews, images, videos, and all other content posted using Sellexa Services. We retain the right to employ enforcement mechanisms on an account when these policies are not followed. Key policies include:
If Sellexa has reason to believe you, Your Content, or your use of the Services violate our Terms, we may deactivate Your Content to some or all users, or suspend or terminate your account and your access to the Services. Generally, Sellexa will notify you that Your Content or account has been suspended or terminated, unless you've repeatedly violated our Terms or we have legal or regulatory reasons preventing us from notifying you.
Our team uses a combination of automated systems and human review by enforcement specialists to detect and remove policy-violating listings and shops. Violations may be brought to our attention in any of the following ways:
In order to keep Sellexa safe and improve our services, we may take actions that restrict or suspend a shop, account, or listing content. We may also take actions on a user's payment account by holding seller funds. If we determine that a flagged item violates Sellexa's policies, the enforcement action we take may vary based on the nature and severity of the violation. For example, we may suspend a seller's payment deposit, deactivate a listing, restrict a listing from some or all members, or suspend an account.
Sellexa's marketplace presents unique challenges for content moderation detection and enforcement. We provide routes to appeal for users whose listings or accounts have been impacted by Sellexa enforcement actions.
Appeals for listing suspensions may be available in some cases.
Accounts may be permanently or temporarily suspended. If your account has been temporarily suspended, you'll generally receive an email from Sellexa explaining what happened and how to resolve the suspension. If your account is permanently suspended, you may be able to appeal once you resolve the issues that led to the suspension. Please note that you have 6 months from the day your account was suspended to file an appeal.
