Restricted Content Policy

Last updated: 24 April 2026 · Effective from: 24 April 2026

1. Overview

Sellexa is a cultural-commerce marketplace open to a broad audience, including users who do not want to see adult or sexual content. This policy sets out what is permitted, what is restricted, and what is prohibited across listing images, descriptions, reviews, shop banners, digital downloads, and in-app messages. It sits alongside our Community Guidelines and Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy.

We apply this policy in line with the Online Safety Act 2023 and OFCOM's codes of practice on user-to-user services. There is a separate, non-negotiable rule prohibiting nude, partially nude, or sexually suggestive depictions of minors, such content will be removed and reported to law enforcement.

2. Pornography is prohibited

Pornographic content is not allowed anywhere on Sellexa. We define pornography as:

  • Printed or visual material that explicitly describes or displays sex acts, sex organs, or other erotic behaviour for the purpose of sexual arousal or stimulation.
  • Material produced by pornographic publishers (e.g. branded adult magazines, film studios), including vintage adult magazines and films.
  • Material marketed or described as pornographic in listing titles, descriptions, or tags, regardless of whether the listing image itself contains nudity.

3. Items modelled by humans in listing or review photos

When a human model appears in a listing or review photo, genitalia, anuses, gluteal clefts, and female nipples and areolas may not be visible. This rule applies even if the body parts are only partially visible, for example through tight, sheer or mesh clothing, or insufficient blurring or censor bars.

To stay compliant we recommend skin-coloured underwear under sheer garments, non-realistic mannequins, or flat-lay photography.

4. Photographs and photo-realistic content

Sellexa does not allow photographs or photo-realistic depictions of sex acts, genitalia or anuses, even where they are partially obscured.

Photographs of buttocks or nipples are permitted only where the relevant area is fully obscured in the first listing image.

5. Non-realistic art (paintings, illustrations, sculptures)

For content that is neither photographic nor photo-realistic, paintings, illustrations, line drawings, sculptures, we apply standard marketplace prudence. The following are permitted:

  • Visible breasts and buttocks in a non-sexualised artistic context.
  • Stylised depictions of the nude human form (life-drawing studies, classical sculpture references).

The following are prohibited even in non-realistic styles:

  • Sex acts with visible genitalia or anuses.
  • Depictions of genitalia or anuses combined with sexual context (visible arousal, stimulation, fluids, suggestive posing).
  • Anything that depicts a minor in a sexual or suggestive way.

6. Sexual services and other prohibited categories

  • Selling or advertising sexual services, including fetish items previously used by an individual (e.g. worn underwear), or custom photo or video commissions depicting nudity or sexual content.
  • Depictions of illegal sexual acts, including bestiality, necrophilia, incest, and non-consensual sex.
  • Items bearing sexual language combined with references to familial relationships (parent, child, sibling, grandparent, niece/nephew, aunt/uncle and their step-equivalents).

7. Adult toys and accessories

Sellexa prohibits the sale of adult toys that are inserted into the body, applied to the genitalia, or designed for genitals to be inserted into them. This includes dildos, vibrators, anal plugs, sex dolls, fleshlights, and mouth gags.

Sellexa permits the sale of non-insertable, non-penetrative adult accessories such as restraints, handcuffs, nipple clamps, body harnesses, BDSM headwear, sex furniture, and similar items, provided the listing imagery complies with Sections 3 and 4.

Adult accessories must not be shown in use or worn by human models in listing or review photos. There is a narrow exception for body harnesses, harness-style lingerie, cupless bras, and crotchless underwear, provided breasts, gluteal cleft, anus, and genitalia are fully covered by opaque clothing.

8. Enforcement

Where content breaches this policy we may remove the listing, hide the shop from search, or suspend the account. Severe or repeated breaches result in permanent termination under the Seller Misconduct & Enforcement Policy.

To report content that breaches this policy, email support@sellexa.app with the listing or message reference.
